Raritan Computer, Inc. Acquires Arula Systems, a Hewlett-Packard Spin-off Company
Arula Acquisition Allows Leading KVM Technology Company to Expand its Remote Management Portfolio
Somerset, NJ, (August 19, 2002) – Raritan Computer, Inc., the leader in keyboard/video/mouse (KVM) access and switching technology, today announced that it has acquired Arula Systems, Inc., in a stock and cash transaction. Arula develops and distributes management appliances that are used by a growing number of enterprise IT organizations and network management service providers. Arula’s solutions provide secure, Web-based access, monitoring and remote automated management of servers and data center devices from any location in the world. The company’s customers include large global and Fortune 500 companies with remote offices and data centers.
The Arula acquisition will add advanced remote serial console technology to Raritan’s current and future KVM solutions. “Our acquisition of Arula will serve our marketplace needs two-fold,” said Ching-I Hsu, president and CEO, Raritan Computer, Inc. "First, Arula's technology will support Raritan’s seamless remote management solution. Second, it will provide better access to serial devices over IP, enhancing our current KVM over IP-based solutions as well."
"We're very excited about this acquisition. The combination of Raritan’s customer loyalty, global distribution channels and leading KVM technology will enhance Arula's solutions," said Murrali Rangarajan, president and CEO, Arula Systems.
According to Chandra Venkatraman, founder of Arula Systems, Arula’s technology will complement and expand Raritan’s solutions. “We are delighted to bring added value to Raritan’s existing and prospective customers by enabling IT managers to manage large scale heterogeneous servers using Arula’s management appliance technology,” he said.
